2.  Make sure you order the book we’ll read in a few week–Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Saffron Foer.

3.  Read about Langston Hughes (pgs 465 – 468) and the following poems — “Dream Variations,”  “Theme for English B,” and “Harlem.”

4.  Also, please read “Kitchenette Building” by Gwendolynn Brooks.

Homework

1. If you haven’t already done it, get your vocab done for this week’s list.

  • Use Verbal Advantage and list each word, its part of speech, the definition and your own personal sentence.
  • Type it, print it and stick it in your vocab section.
  • I’ll check it tomorrow.

2.  Finish going through Chapter 1 in your grammar book pgs 3-48. Complete all the activities for adjectives, adverbs, preps and conjunctions.

3.  Bring in 3 specific rules/questions/concepts that you find difficult.  Type these up in your own language with specific follow up questions about each one.

2.  Finish going through Chapter 2 up to pg 81.  Do all checkpoints and fill in the study guide I gave you with definitions and examples for each term.
